The analysis of the activities on corporate social responsibility presented on the websites of the banks in Croatia has shown the CSR practice in the Croatian banking sector. The research has comprised all the banks in Croatia which in 2017 had an operating certificate issued by the Croatian National Bank. The analysis included the announcements on the target areas of CSR: activities and projects regarding the inclusion in the local and/or wider community, relation to employees, environmental care and consciousness, practicing business code and reporting on CSR activities, presuming that all the website announcements on social activities of the banks correspond in terms of quality and quantity to the real activities and results in the field of corporate responsibility. The analysis of the contents of the banks’ websites and the comparative analysis of the obtained data point to the conclusion that there is a significant interaction between the bank profitability and its social engagement and the public disclosure of the corresponding information. The research results have shown that three banks (12% of all the banks) have not included any CSR activities in their performance, whereas five banks (20% of all the banks) perform CSR activities in terms of all the observed CSR areas. Accordingly, it can be concluded that they permanently perform quality activities and the business strategy in the corporate responsibility segment and thus add value to the community within which they operate. These are the following banks: Zagrebačka banka, Privredna banka, Erste banka, Hrvatska poštanska banka and OTP banka. Other banks (17) have included some of the CSR segments in their business performance, but to an insufficient extent and thus it cannot be stated that they conduct CSR activities.
